We all know we don’t need 700 channels of stuff we’ll never watch. It’s just that the Cable and satellite service companies don’t let you cherry pick the channels we’d like to have. So if you’d like to revisit the 40’ and 50’s Hollywood classics on The Movie Channel, you end up having to get a package with 15 other channels you didn’t want in the first place.
So the smart and cheap way to enjoy the programming options Comcast cable offers is to do it one step at a time.
Rememnber, you can always add and cancel channel packages once you're subscribed and they'll pro rate it.
Just sign up for Comcast basic cable tv service for $19.99. The service agent is going to offer you this and that, special offers, etc just say no thank you.
The Comcast package deals that really make sense are their cable, TV and internet bundles which is called Comcast Triple Play. It offers all 3 services for $99 per month. Before I made the switch I was overpaying BellSouth (now AT&T) $124 a month for basic residential phone service (2) lines. Besides this, I over ordered channel packages from Comcast and was paying $148 per month. So my total was about $265 before I did the math. I cancelled my residential phone service and transferred my phone number. With Comcast triple play I now pay $126 a month because I wanted a bit faster internet service that their starter package offered. It makes sense to get the middle of the road internet package from Comcast, because, and here’s the kicker, I can view hundreds of movies on my laptop with my Netfix account that are included in my $17.99 month package!
